How to install your auction template through eBay

It may be helpful to print out the instructions and use the box next to each step as a checklist.

Opening & Saving Your Template

ð Open the .txt document in notepad and save it to your documents. (You will not see the image, only the HTML coding)

ð  Reopen the document and do all of your editing there. It is a good idea to save your template with your editing on it as a “save as” and to not write over the original template.

Inserting your images

ð  Make sure your images have been uploaded in your photo host. I recommend photobucket.com it is a free site and will give you the codes needed.

ð  Make sure your images are not too large. I recommend no larger than 750 pixels wide.

ð  In the template you will see D I R E C T - L I N K - H E R E erase that and copy the direct link from your photo in photobucket and paste it over the spot in the template. If you are using photobucket, you will use the link that says “direct link”.

ð  To add multiple pictures, you will copy the entire image code from <br> to the second <br> and paste it directly after the first one. Make sure you change the picture URL each time.

ð  This is the only place you will add your pictures, you will not add anymore in the sell box in eBay. (you will pay a per picture price if you do)

Installing your template on eBay

ð  You will fill out the sell page as normal with your title and gallery picture

ð  When you get down to “describe the item you are selling”, you will click on the tab that says “HTML”

ð  Use CTRL C to copy your template from the document and then use CTRL V to paste the template in the description box.

ð  You will then click back over to the “standard” tab and you will then see your template.

Adding your title, description, payment, shipping & policy terms

ð  Once you have put your pictures in the template, you will copy and paste the entire HTML code into the description box in eBay. Make sure you click on the HTML tab first, then back over to the standard tab. You should now see your template

ð  You will see through the template

T I T L E - H E R E

D E S C R I P T I O N  -  H E R E

P A Y M E N T  -  H E R E

S H I P P I N G  -  H E R E

P O L I C Y  -  H E R E

you will erase what is show above and add your information. You can use the toolbar at the top of the description box to change the color & size of your font.

And you are done! If you get stuck, save your template (use save as) with all of your editing on it and email it to me at ilovemytemplate@gmail.com so I can take a look at it. Please be as specific as possible as to where you are getting stuck.
